Hispanic Heritage Month
September 15, 2023 to October 15, 2023
Hispanic Heritage Month lasts from September 15 to October 15 each year. This period is observed by celebrating and acknowledging the history and culture of our ancestors with origins from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America. The timing of Hispanic Heritage Month coincides with the Independence Day celebrations of several Latin American nations.

Hello West Campus Families,
Please plan to join us this Thursday for Back to School Night. We will have a principal’s welcome in the gym at 5:30 pm. Following the welcome, parents can move from class to class, each class will be seven minutes.
Please mark your calendar to join us for our first Equity Team meeting of the 2023-2024 school year. We will meet at 3:45 pm in room 56.
Additionally, please mark your calendar for Lunch with your Warrior – Thursday, October 12, 2023 – look for details below.
Drama Production
Mean Girls
West Campus Students,
If you are interested in participating in the Drama Production of Mean Girls, please plan to attend auditions on September 11, 2023, right after school in room 13.
Students need to prepare a song that is no more than two minutes and not a song from Mean Girls. They will also need to prepare a monologue.
Auditions: September 11 3:45-5:45pm WCHS auditorium
Callbacks: September 12 3:45-4:45pm WCHS auditorium
Rehearsals start September 18.

Hello West Campus Families,
We had a great first two days of school and all staff were excited to have students back on campus!
As you know, West Campus is an inclusive, diverse campus. This year, we have expanded our special education program to include a Special Day Class (SDC) serving autistic students. Students are encouraged to welcome our new students and engage with them throughout the day.
Cell Phone Policy
2023-2024
For the 2023-2024 School Year, we have ordered cell phone pockets for each teaching staff member. These large, hanging pockets will have an individual spot for 36 cell phones in each classroom. Classroom policies will include that students will place their phone in their assigned, numbered pocket upon arrival to class each day in each class.

Welcome back to school for the first day of the 2023 -2024 School Year! Staff has been preparing for the arrival of students and look forward to an excellent and smooth start to the school year.
Our counselors have been reviewing schedule change request submissions diligently over the past few days – all students should confirm their schedule for tomorrow via the Infinite Campus portal – the schedule as listed there will be up to date and accurate.

Yearbooks: you are still able to order a yearbook! Jostens is taking orders here (https://www.jostens.com/apps/store/customer/1006567/West-Campus-High-School/). There are only 50 yearbooks in this order – first 50 families to order will get them.They’ll arrive in July, and Ms. Whitehead will contact each family to arrange for pick-up.

June 2023 Updates
Hello Incoming Freshman and Families!
Summer Bridge: We are offering a summer program for incoming freshmen called Summer Bridge. The goal of this program is to acclimate incoming students to the culture and environment of West Campus, as well as offer them an opportunity to build relationships with their peers. Participants will engage in a variety of icebreakers and team-building activities, while also becoming familiarized with the campus layout and frequently used technology.

Upcoming Band Concert
Thursday, June 8, 2023 - 6 pm
End of Year Concert – Thursday, June 8th in the West Campus Gym:
The WC End of Year Concert is on Thursday, June 8th at 6 - 8pm in the West Campus gym. This concert will feature the Music Appreciation guitar students, drumline, color guard, jazz band, modern band, and concert band. This concert will be free to attend.
