Congratulations to the West Campus girls basketball team for winning the NIKE Tournament of Champions (TOC) that took place in Phoenix, Arizona, last month–we are so proud of our Warriors!! Special thanks to the coaches, parents, and families who support our scholar-athletes in reaching the heights!
On Wednesday, December 11th, 23 West Campus students participated in an all-day engineering competition hosted by Sacramento Regional Builders Exchange (SRBE). Held at Sacramento State, the CREATE Competition is the annual culminating event of the CREATE Program, for which our students met regularly after school and received mentorship from industry professionals — such as architects, civil engineers, and structural engineers – over a 12-week period.
November 30th in Fresno was a wonderful end to the season for the entire West Campus Cross Country team and especially for junior, Godebo Chapman. Godebo is now the first West Campus student to crack the top-10, with a 7th place finish and a personal record of 15:34!
We are incredibly proud of Godebo and the entire team for all of their hard work and accomplishments. Special thanks to coaches Kevin Clancy and Tracie Podsednik, as well as to the families of our student-athletes, who helped make all this possible. Go Warriors!!
Since its inception in 2005, the Bank of America Student Leaders Program has recognized more than 2,500 exemplary high school juniors and seniors who have a passion for improving their communities. West Campus has been recognized as one of the Sacramento area schools that send the most graduates to college.
“Not surprisingly, schools located in wealthier areas are much more likely to send a higher proportion of graduates to college… But some schools in economically disadvantaged areas punch above their weight, particularly Sacramento Charter High and West Campus, both located in South Sacramento.”
Save the date! Our school’s biggest fundraising event of the year is happening Saturday, March 28, from 6-10 p.m. at the Sacramento Turn Verein, located in East Sacramento. All West Campus families and their friends are invited to this fun adults-only event. Stay tuned for ticket prices and details!
Bid on auction items and enjoy great food and drink while you visit with old and new friends from our campus community. Every dollar raised at the gala pays for programs and supplies that our school budget is unable to cover.
We need you!
