Principal Updates

Hello West Campus Families,
This summer we will over a summer program. The program will begin June 26, 2023 and run through July 28, 2023. We will have flexible options for our summer bridge programs and enrichment opportunities:
- Classes focused on specific preparation for specific AP courses
- Classes focused on increasing skills in a specific area
- Classes designed to promote a positive school atmosphere and climate for our rising ninth grade students
All of these bridge and enrichment opportunities will not be for credit. Look for details on specific programs and dates in the coming weeks.
Additionally, we will have a credit recovery program for students who have received a “D” or “F” in a course (either this year or past years). Students enrolled to credit recovery will be expected to report to school while they complete their online course. Upon completion of all courses, students will be dismissed from attendance.

Equity Team Challenge
Week 7 - Redlining
Definition: Redlining is a discriminatory practice that puts services (financial and otherwise) out of reach for residents of certain areas based on race or ethnicity. It can be seen in the systematic denial of mortgages, insurance, loans, and other financial services based on location (and that area’s default history) rather than on an individual’s qualifications and creditworthiness. Notably, the policy of redlining is felt the most by predominantly Black and brown racial and ethnic minorities.

The Counseling Calendar is now on the Foundation website. Click here for a video tutorial on how to add WCHS calendars to your personal Google calendar or follow these steps: 1) Go to https://wc-fe.org/. 2) Scroll all the way down on the home page to the calendar. 3) At the bottom right of the calendar, select the + sign next to where it says “Google Calendar.” (Your Google calendar opens up if you are already signed in.
Upcoming Band Concert
Thursday, June 8, 2023 - 6 pm
End of Year Concert – Thursday, June 8th in the West Campus Gym:
The WC End of Year Concert is on Thursday, June 8th at 6 - 8pm in the West Campus gym. This concert will feature the Music Appreciation guitar students, drumline, color guard, jazz band, modern band, and concert band. This concert will be free to attend.

Career Day is just around the corner, and we need more adults to sign up. This is organized by two seniors, Agnes and Shawn, and they would really appreciate your help. The event is June 1, and will take up the first three periods of the day from approximately 8:30 to 11:05am. Please sign up here.
