Equity Team Update and Challenge

We start our weekly challenges this week, with this first one that shares 3 principles that can serve as guiding lights as we work towards racial and social equity. Through these challenges, we encourage you to not just identify injustices, but rather to re-imagine the future and create a path to a more just world for all.

MAIN CHALLENGE

Read “3 Liberatory Principles for Emerging Freedom Fighters”  (link to article, 5 minutes)

SELF-REFLECTION QUESTIONS

  • Which of these 3 principles is resonating most with you and why?
  • Identify who and what you need to support you to complete this challenge (e.g., anti-racist friend or group; inspirational quote, centering on “my why”, etc)

Please consider joining us for our next Equity Team meeting at 3:45 pm in Room 3 on Monday, May 1. Students, parents, staff, and teachers are all invited to participate.

AP Proctors needed! We are looking for volunteers to help proctor AP tests, specifically if you have a SCUSD email address and can proctor digital exams. If you can help proctor digital exams or be a general volunteer (i.e., help sit in for a proctor during a break), please contact Ms. Roland at EuniceAnn-Roland@scusd.edu.
