We are in the home stretch of this school year. If you have feedback or ideas for next year please let Foundation President, Natasha Fine, know. Equity Team Update

As part of the work of the Equity Team – a voluntary group of students, administrators, parents, and staff committed to diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice improvements at West Campus – we will be sharing a weekly Social and Racial Equity Challenge with the West Campus community beginning with next week’s update.

These voluntary challenges are intended to help each of us learn, evaluate our own perceptions and biases, and deepen our understanding of how we can improve equity in our own lives and communities.

Each weekly challenge may have links to articles, short videos to watch, self-assessments, and introspective questions to consider. These links to resources are entirely optional and your participation in any activities related to them will not be viewable by anyone else. We hope you and your student will participate!

Please consider joining us for our next Equity Team meeting at 3:45 pm in Room 3 on Monday, April 10. Students, parents, staff, and teachers are all invited to participate.

Prom is next Saturday, April 15th! We need 6 more volunteers! Please sign up by using this document: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1mBlDkynMpBk3pLIm68qu3omfOl14Y_Xu2ncIoDgMDQw/edit?usp=sharing

Unity Festival is on May 19 (4-8pm); the festival will have carnival activities, games, and food, alongside a talent show and open house. Please save the date and time! Career Day is planned for June 1. There will be sign-ups through the month of May with guidelines for parents on what to present. This will take up the first three periods of the day from approximately 8:30 to 11am. They’ll also have a college workshop in the gym for juniors to participate in, get info on college applications, financial aid, etc, while freshmen and sophomores listen to the presenters in classrooms. If you’re interested in presenting, please save the date and stay tuned for more.

The student organizers will need volunteer presenters, teachers’ support, and use of their classroom space. All the presenters would be in one classroom and students can loop through, so they will present three times (once to each period). The organizers hope to get a wide variety of professionals from different sectors to volunteer and are aiming to have 20-40 volunteer presenters, in total. They’ll group people to have some panels as well.

WCFE Website: We are constantly adding new, updated information to our new website, https://wc-fe.org/!
