WCFE special general virtual meeting on March 27. Please join us on Monday, 6-6:15 pm,  for our special general membership meeting to see how we intend to support this senior project.

Successful college tour at UC Berkeley on March 19. Thank you to all the juniors, chaperones, and staff who attended the college tour at UC Berkeley. Special thanks to Mix@Berkeley, a recruitment and retention center that strives to recruit and retain mixed-identifying students of color at UC Berkeley, for providing the transportation and meals for the tour.

Multicultural Faire is on Friday, March 31, for students at lunch with all the clubs selling foods and having cultural performances and tables with info about other cultures.

  • Do you have culturally appropriate decorations and items that aren’t “culturally appropriating” that ASB can borrow or have, to put on the info tables? ASB is collecting donations and loans of materials March 27th-30th.
  • Students should plan to bring money to buy tickets to purchase food.

Senior Yearbook Dedication Pages: New deadline: Dedication pages are due March 31. You can go to the WCHS website or the Foundation website (https://wc-fe.org/yearbook-senior-ads-feb-9/) to order yearbooks and also send in a dedication page for your senior.

About 8 more volunteers needed at the Junior and Senior Prom, which is being held on April 15th, 7-11pm, at the J Street Masonic Temple. You must be fingerprinted and cleared by the school to chaperone. The ASB students helped us set up for the Gala; some stayed 10am-5pm; let’s show some support and volunteer for the prom! Please sign up by using this document:  https://docs.google.com/document/d/1mBlDkynMpBk3pLIm68qu3omfOl14Y_Xu2ncIoDgMDQw/edit?usp=sharing

Unity Festival is the evening of May 19; there will be a talent show and open house at the same time. Please save the date! If you’re interested in volunteering, please reach out to Alice Liu at membership@wc-fe.org. More details coming soon!

Career Day is planned for June 1. There will be sign-ups through the month of May with guidelines for parents on what to present. This will take up the first three periods of the day from approximately 8:30 to 11am. They’ll also have a college workshop in the gym for juniors to participate in, get info on college applications, financial aid, etc, while freshmen and sophomores listen to the presenters in classrooms. If you’re interested in presenting, please save the date and stay tuned for more.

The student organizers will need volunteer presenters, teachers’ support, and use of their classroom space. All the presenters would be in one classroom and students can loop through, so they will present three times (once to each period). The organizers hope to get a wide variety of professionals from different sectors to volunteer and are aiming to have 20-40 volunteer presenters, in total. They’ll group people to have some panels as well.

WCFE Website: We are constantly adding new, updated information to our new website, https://wc-fe.org/! Please join the official West Campus Parent Chat, where we will be asking for input on what projects we should focus on.  It’s also a good place to connect with other parents.  https://www.facebook.com/groups/621743669612907
