CREATE is an afterschool program supported by Sacramento Builders Exchange.

  • Students work with mentors from the building industry, competing against other high schools in the Sacramento region.
  • The 2021 program met after school, for one hour, on Wednesdays in Room 73.
  • Mentors from the building industry support the program.
  • The final competition is held in December each year.

About the CREATE Program:

Since 2007, more than 150 local construction managers, contractors, engineers, architects, suppliers, and tradespeople have signed on to bring their experience and knowledge into the high school classroom. By acting as professional role models, trusted friends, and career advisors, they make a significant contribution to the community while helping to develop our future work force.

Each year, the structure of the program is refined to reflect the industry trend toward collaborative delivery methods and to build the problem-solving skills of our youth. Our goal remains intact: to educate and inspire students to pursue career pathways that create the built environment.

By educating and inspiring students about the industry and the rewards of a career in the field, the CREATE Program helps to guide students toward fulfilling careers and ensure that future generations of professionals will fill the pipeline with talented and skilled workers.
